Families can expect to dine on cheaper ducks and geese today after a four-month ban on the import of waterfowl was lifted.

About 900 ducks and 600 geese from the mainland - the first imports since December - have passed H5N1 tests and will hit the market this morning.
Today's supply is about one-fifth of the pre-bird flu levels and will be the first batch sold under new hygiene procedures.
Wholesalers have set prices at about $8 a catty (about $13 a kilogram) for ducks and about $14 a catty for geese.
