Unemployed Lau Tat-sing, 18, appeared at Eastern Court charged with having sexual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl in March 1997 and on another occasion before last February.

  A third charge accuses him of conspiring with herbalist Tse Leung-ying, 69, and housewife Kuo Sam-njan, 41, in using an instrument intended to procure the girl's miscarriage on February 14. The case returns to court on June 17 to be transferred to the High Court.
