Auditors must keep distance

The Finance Ministry will require accounting companies which audit publicly listed firms and their associates to separate this function from their controlling administrative unit by the end of the year. The ministry also barred accounting firms from using their administrative status as a way of attracting business, and said all fees paid by the firms to their administrative units must remain as state assets, the Guangzhou Daily said.
