SOME six-year-old kids amuse themselves by watching Sesame Street , while others might take delight in The Simpsons . But not Abel Guernier. He gets TV enjoyment out of watching Yan Can Cook - the culinary programme hosted by whacky Los Angeles-based chef Martin Yan. Abel, son of Ramada Renaissance General Manager Mr Alain Guernier, not only watches the programme faithfully, but also tries to put on the Yan style in the kitchen at home. So when Mr Guernier heard TV cook Yan was going to be at the T'ang Court Chinese restaurant in his hotel, he arranged for Abel to be fetched from school so he could meet his idol. In fact, when Abel's mother explained to his teacher why they wanted him to leave school at lunchtime, the teacher wondered whether she could send over the entire class! Abel's face was a picture when he was confronted by Yan. The chatty cook autographed one of the restaurant menus for Abel. He wrote: ''To Abel - a very handsome, exciting, wonderful, terrific young man and future master chef''. (These TV celebs know how to massage the egos of their fans, even when the fans are so young.) All that awe-struck Abel could utter in response was: ''Thank you, Yan Can Cook!''
