In return for commission, hundreds of property agents gathered outside Sun Hung Kai Properties' sales office in Sha Tin yesterday to lure buyers for the developer's Mount Haven project on Tsing Yi island. To boost sales, SHKP has released the remaining Mount Haven units through its sales office and property agents after a 12 per cent price cut. SHKP yesterday said about 100 flats had been sold on the second day of the sale. It said the lower price would be on offer until Sunday. Prices at Mount Haven were cut to $3,750 per square foot from $4,280 per sq ft on Tuesday night. Fred Chow, Centaline Property Agency's Tsing Yi branch sales manager, said the number of rival property agents outside the Sha Tin office at one point swelled to 500, as they tried to attract buyers. Centaline sent 100 agents, he said. Spencer Tse Shiu-man, Midland Realty's Tsing Yi branch assistant sales manager, said there were about 50 potential buyers outside the sales office at about 6pm. On Wednesday, the sale continued until midnight as the queue began growing after office hours, he said. SHKP still had about 450 units unsold, agents said. Sales at other developments with discounted prices remain slow. Wheelock Properties said it had sold about 30 of the 68 units released for sale at the Galaxia in Diamond Hill at $4,995 per sq ft yesterday. Henderson Land Development has sold six units at La Cite Noble in Tseung Kwan O and has received a tepid response to Dawning Views in Fanling. Henderson Land has released 400 units at its two developments - 200 each at La Cite Noble and Dawning Views - at discounts of up to 7 per cent.
