Two press photographers sustained serious injuries when they were attacked while taking pictures in Lok Fu yesterday. Chan Ching-yee, 23, of Tin Tin Daily, and Kwok Tsz-shan, 22, of Sing Tao Daily, were on assignment at the China and South Sea Bank at about 2.30 pm. The two women were shooting pictures of investors inside the bank when a man in his 50s, who had walked past but did not have his picture taken, hurled abuse at them and grabbed their cameras and film. A scuffle followed and the women were wrestled to the pavement. Kwok was punched in the face and head while Chan suffered cuts to her right eye when her glasses were broken. Both photographers were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment where Chan had six stitches put in her right eyelid. A man was charged with assault last night.
