Legislator's dual role sparks demand for Exco revamp

Allen Lee said Tung Chee-hwa should consider a revamp of the Executive Council.

He said it was 'politically and publicly unacceptable' to leave Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong (DAB) member Tam Yiu-chung as the only legislator in Exco.

Mr Tam, the only Exco member to stand in the polls for a Legco seat, won in New Territories West.

The two other provisional legislators - Henry Tang Yin-yen and Leung Chun-ying - did not run.

Mr Lee said: 'The public perception is that the so-called Exco-Legco link has failed.

'If Tam Yiu-chung is to be the only legislator in Exco, it is unfair to other political parties. He has confidential information. No one will believe that he doesn't bring it back to the DAB.
