Viewers of the Jockey Club's English-language television service will shortly be in line for official explanations of what goes on in the inquiry room during race meetings.
Television guru Michael Henricksen has had meetings with chief stipendiary steward, Clinton P. Pitts Jnr, with the result that there will be very quick post-race statements on racing incidents given out during the live transmissions.
When decisions are taken during race meetings, they will be relayed as quickly as possible to the viewers across Hong Kong and, of course, in North America.
At the conclusion of each meeting, Pitts will answer questions on camera and explain decisions - depending on his availability in relation to ongoing inquiries.
Henricksen said: 'I believe it is a most positive move and on a personal level I really welcome the assistance of Clinton [Pitts].
'I think it just has to be seen as a benefit to our viewers and it will help to make much more open what is happening officially. Nobody really knows until the next day's newspapers what has taken place in the inquiry room.
