Elenex is the most significant international show in the electric industry, according to Parklin Ho, managing director of Clipsal Asia Limited. It also reflected market trends in the industry, he said. Clipsal has been an exhibitor at Elenex since its inception but this year it will be an exhibitor in the Australian pavilion. 'We are tying in with the Australian Trade Commission. We believe it is a good time to link up with other Australian companies and it will be a good arena in which to promote our products,' Mr Ho said. Clipsal has been active in Hong Kong for 20 years and currently has more than 10,000 products. In the switches and sockets area, Clipsal will be highlighting its year 2000 range which is designed to give the user a wider choice of colours and patterns to match internal designs. The use of the latest technology in three dimensional surface printing gives customers a choice of sockets and switches that emulate the look of marble, wood grain, metal or abstract designs. 'This range has proved popular since its launch and will be one area that we will be highlighting at Elenex,' he said. Clipsal will also be featuring its C-bus total lighting management system. C-bus is a microprocessor- controlled wiring system that enables effective management of lighting. Driven by specially-developed software, each input and load module has its own built-in microprocessor which can be programmed to provide various lighting tasks. These tasks include signal control, dimming, timing and intensity. There is a multi-control system as well as remote control and it is designed for both the private and commercial sector. 'The C-bus system is an innovative lighting management system that we are very excited about. Because of the international move towards intelligent buildings, we are sure there will be great interest in this product at Elenex,' Mr Ho said. Clipsal will also display its recently launched range of light fittings. It includes floor lights, floodlights, outdoor lights, industrial lights and light fittings that are waterproof and explosion-proof. 'We have an established network of clients in Asia. To maximise this potential, we have introduced a wide range of fittings,' he said.
