Youngsters between six and 25 years of age have the chance to get involved in meaningful, but fun activities during the summer holidays.
That's if they take part in the Summer Youth Programme, which this year focuses on services to the disabled, the elderly living on their own, and new arrivals from the mainland.
Launching the 30th annual youth programme, chairman Norman Lo Kam-wah, said the summer's activities would start off with an opening ceremony on July 5 at Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
Mr Lo said last year, the programme organised more than 15,000 activities for 1,170,000 participants.
He said the 1998 budget amounted to $63 million, of which $19 million was contributed by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
The balance was covered by relevant government departments, the District Boards and local sponsors.
