ANOTHER Vietnamese cargo vessel was reported to have been intercepted by armed Public Security Bureau officers south of Po Toi Island last night.
The master of the Vietnam-registered Vietxo 01 radioed the Marine Department's vessel traffic centre at 8 pm, saying his vessel was being ''caught by Chinese policemen''.
He said he had a crew of 27 on board and gave his position as south of Po Toi Island, which is inside Chinese waters. Marine Department and Marine Police officers were unable to offer any help.
The 690-tonne vessel was known to have sailed from Hongkong earlier yesterday but it was not immediately known what cargo was on board.
Officials of Sunnix Maritime Company, the local agents of the vessel, could not be contacted last night.
