Windsurfer Ho Chi-ho collected his first Adidas/HKSI Junior Star of the Month Award after achieving excellent results at the 1998 Mistral Asian Continental Championships in the Philippines. The 17-year-old won a gold medal in the youth category after defeating 11 top juniors from Hong Kong, South Korea, the Philippines and Thailand. Nominated by the Windsurfing Association of Hong Kong several times, the promising boardsailor, who has been making good progress recently, was finally named the winner. Chi-ho is currently in Europe undergoing intensive training for the Asian Games. Last year, he won a gold medal in the IMCO class (junior category) at the Siam Cup in Pattaya, silver medals in the youth class at the Singapore Open, and in the International Mistral One Design Youth at the Hong Kong Open Windsurfing Championships. The Junior Star of the Month Award is presented by Adidas Hong Kong and the Sports Development Board to up-and-coming sportsmen. The winner receives a cash prize of HK$2,500, an Adidas product coupon worth HK$2,500, and a trophy.
