It was a scene remarkably different from the hostile images of the televised election forums just a few weeks ago.
With big smiles on their faces and a message of unity, leaders of the seven major political parties and groups in the new Legislative Council were aligned in their first show of force since being elected.
Sharp political differences were put aside. Contentious economic and livelihood proposals were put on hold. Old scores were buried.
All for one common objective: a united position on what the Government needs to do immediately to salvage the economic downturn and reverse the trend of surging unemployment.
If this unprecedented move has succeeded in bringing more attention to the Government's 12-point package, it is not because of any earth-shattering ideas in their six-item programme.
Ideas such as cuts in rates and fuel tax and ways to help small and medium-sized enterprises have been raised by most of the parties in the past. They come as no surprise.
