DHL Worldwide Express has staged the official opening of its US$5.3 million Osaka Logistics Centre, which enables the company to offer later pick-up times to export customers in western Japan.
Located in the Rinku International Logistics Centre close to Kansai International Airport, the 2,000-square-metre facility has experienced substantial growth in shipment volume since commencing operations in December.
The centre, which includes state-of-the-art shipment-handling systems and bonded warehouse facilities, allowed DHL to maintain fast, full and secure control over all shipments processed, Graham Davey, DHL Asia-Pacific/Middle East chief operating officer, said.
