Lift terror for 3 women

Two lift-roof robbers terrorised women by threatening to drench them in acid or set the lift on fire.

Lift-repair worker Yau Man-kin and Yu Yuen-fai rode on the top of elevators in industrial buildings in Hunghom, Kwun Tong and Mongkok, the Court of First Instance was told.

The pair collected cash, bankcards and jewellery in three robberies last July.

But they were traced after Yu left a comic book with his fingerprints on it behind.

Yau, 24, and Yu, 19, a delivery worker, each admitted two charges of robbery and one of theft. Yau pleaded guilty to an additional robbery charge.

The pair would stop the lift, open the emergency hatch and lower a plastic bag, prosecutor Paul Ho Wing-kwong said.
