Rosenthal, makers of fine porcelain from Germany, held a dinner at the Ritz-Carlton and invited celebrities and socialites to view its latest dinnerware.
Among the offerings was a range by the late Gianni Versace, and the relaunched Heritage Collection named after, among others, Princess Grace of Monaco and Queen Sirikit of Thailand.
But the piece de resistance was a porcelain set called the Magic Flute, probably the most extravagant as it is hand-painted in 24-carat gold.
