CHILDREN all over Hongkong and China will share a happy and meaningful Easter holidays by participating in the novel, festive community programme, ''Children's Easter Fortnight''. Co-organised by the Heavy Rail Division of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) and the Oriental Press Charitable Fund Association, the programme is aimed at encouraging kindness and sharing among children, especially the needy. The KCRC is encouraging children to donate their toys, new or good as new, to the toy collection booth, set up on the paid concourse inside the KCR Sha Tin Station from today until April 11 (10 am to 7 pm). The toys collected will then be distributed to less privileged children both in Hongkong and China. Children donating toys in person will be given a KCR cartoon sticker and a souvenir to thank them for their generosity. They are also asked not to bring damaged, dirty or dangerous toys to the booth. As part of the programme, the KCR will also display a decorated basket containing a number of Easter eggs next to the booth during the toy collection period. Children are welcome to guess the number of Easter eggs inside. An Easter Mini-Show, comprising a children's ballet performance, musical performance and magic show, will also be held on the paid concourse of Sha Tin Station on April 12. For more information, call the KCR at 606-9362.
