SCMP Reporter

MONDAY: I met a group of academics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and overseas sports education experts first thing in the morning.They were conducting a research on physical education in secondary schools.

  I then prepared for a staff meeting which we hold on Monday afternoons.

  I also chatted with three teachers and two parents.

TUESDAY: My morning was tied up with paperwork. At noon I saw the counselling teacher about some problem students and later met the school supervisor to check on some items we need.

  I then prepared and typed up my morning assembly address for Wednesday.

WEDNESDAY: Being year-end and time for appraisals, I met teachers to discuss their performance.

  I also met a researcher from City University of Hong Kong, who was studying ways of implementing sex education in Hong Kong secondary schools. We were one of the target schools for the study.

THURSDAY: I made some time for teacher appraisals although I had two meetings to discuss our year- end variety show, teachers' summer duties, and a summer orientation programme for incoming Form One students.

FRIDAY: I continued with teacher appraisals, and later examined statistics on the school's internal examination results with one of my teachers.

  I then received an officer from the Independent Commission Against Corruption who introduced a new teaching kit to us.

  After school, I attended a staff development programme before going to a variety concert at a school in the evening.
