AN unemployed man who ''reeked of alcohol'', screamed at a bus driver and pulled him from his seat and then assaulted a policeman who arrived on the scene, Western Court heard yesterday. Lee Siu-por, 37, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in a public place, common assault and assaulting a police officer. He was sentenced to 21/2 months in prison. The court heard that on March 25 driver Mr Lin Mun-sang, 35, stopped his Route 101 bus at a stop in Statue Square, Central. Lee knocked on the windscreen and then screamed for no apparent reason. Lee then boarded the bus and pulled Mr Lin from his seat by grabbing his clothes. The court was told the passengers were afraid and got off the bus immediately while Mr Lin subdued Lee and called the police. Lee calmed down, but was said to reek of alcohol. As Lee was being taken to the Waterfront police station for further inquiries, he suddenly grabbed a policeman and hit him. Magistrate Mr Ian Candy sentenced Lee to 14 days in prison for disorderly conduct, one month for common assault and one month for assaulting a police officer. The sentences are to run consecutively.
