AN American citizen appeared before San Po Kong Court charged with possessing an automatic pistol and 50 rounds of ammunition without a licence.

  The court heard that Arturo Balbago Custodio, 51, was in possession of a 9 mm calibre automatic pistol and 50 rounds of 0.38 calibre bullets without a licence on Tuesday at Kai Tak airport.

  Magistrate Mr Stephen Geiser ordered Custodio to be remanded in custody until Tuesday for police inquiries.
