Another 6,000 tower fans are being recalled as the Government has found the maker of problematic Pierre Cardin fans also made three other brands.
The three brands made by the same firm linked to a near-fatal fire in Yau Ma Tei last month were Airwave, Regent and Alaska, all with model HST-1T.
The department said more than 1,000 Airwave and 3,300 Alaska fans were produced by the manufacturer, and 2,000 Regent fans had been sold.
Retailer for the Airwave fans, Carrefour, yesterday offered a full refund to customers who bought the fans between April and July this year.
The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department said the Alaska fans had been sold by 'over 200 retailers'.
The department issued an urgent recall of the 3,000 Pierre Cardin HST-1T tower fans last month after damaged cables were found following a fire in a Public Square Street flat.
