IS IT SEXY, 'TARTY' OR A STYLISH SIGNAL? SIGNAL?
THEY say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and nowhere is this more evident than in the clothes you wear. They send out signals about your personality, your lifestyle and your sexuality. What one person sees as sexy another may see as ''tarty''.
To put this to the test, we photographed a model in seven different outfits and asked a group of men which one they liked most, which they liked least and what they felt the clothes said about the woman wearing them. Here are the results: Cheung Hon-ming, 17, student I like number five because the model looks very sexy in it. My least favourite is number seven because I don't like to see a woman in a jeans dress. She does not look good at all, the scarf looks ridiculous, strange even. Long blue jeans would look much better on her.
Danny Leung, 28, a salesman Number six is my favourite, it is a mature classical look, she looks very elegant and sophisticated, polite and demure. The outfit also looks very comfortable. I would be very happy if I saw my girlfriend wearing that. The colours are very cool and comfortable.
I do not like number two because it is far too fashionable, a girl could never really wear it on the street but I would not be embarrassed if she turned up wearing it. She has a right to wear whatever she wants. Ngan Chi-fai, 34, a technician I like number four because it is short and sexy. I would certainly take her home to meet my parents if she turned up wearing that. I would be very proud of her. I much prefer short dresses where you can see lots of leg.
Number two is too fashionable. I would send her home to change if she turned up wearing that. It is far too long. You say it's worth around $8,000, well I think that is rather overpriced, don't you? Especially when the woman looks terrible in it.
David Tang, 38, businessman I think they are all ghastly. If I was forced to have to live with one of these outfits on a desert island I would go for number two. It is so ridiculous, it is so amusing. It is a collage. The good thing about collage is that statistically speaking you are bound to find one patch on it which is acceptable.
