Top achievers best friends despite diverse tastes
Buddies Wan Shiu-man and Gordon Wong Tsz-lun are at the centre of flattering attention, thanks to their outstanding results in this year's Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination.
The Diocesan Boys' School pupils have been friends for 10 years and get on like a house on fire.
The 19-year-olds performed brilliantly, with Shiu-man scoring six As and Tsz-lun five.
Shiu-man obtained A(1)s in Use of English, Chemistry, and Chinese Language and Culture [AS], Biology and Mathematics and Statistics; and A(2) in Physics.
Tsz-lun scored A(1)s in Chinese Language and Culture [AS] and Biology; and A(2)s in Use of English, Chemistry [AS], and Mathematics and Statistics.
Their long friendship was based on mutual respect, and they thrived on their differences, they said.
