China Air reports terrible year

China Airlines, Taiwan's largest airline, will post a record loss this year after one of its Airbus jets crashed in February in Taiwan's worst air disaster. China Airlines expects to report net loss of NT$838.4 million (about HK$189.56 million) this year on revenue of $56.1 billion. The pretax loss of $2.22 billion - the airlines' first loss since 1985 - compared with the net profit of $2.24 billion and pretax profit of $2.77 billion last year.
