Compaq Hong Kong's new management team includes six of eight directors from Digital, with only two from Compaq, and none from Tandem.
The appointment of the management team has gone through the official selection process, and duty assignment was done according to candidates' capabilities, said Fred Sheu, marketing director of Compaq Hong Kong.
Regarding the absence of Tandem officials, Mr Sheu said the announcement involved only the first level of management, and Tandem people were still in the company.
One leading absentee is Wadson Tseng, former business development director at Tandem Hong Kong who became marketing service director at Compaq in the SAR after last June's merger.
Mr Tseng recently left Compaq 'to pursue his own interests', a Compaq official said.
Compaq's top new officials coming from Digital include managing director Peter Yeung, customer services director Matthew Liang, and enterprise accounts director Raymond Choi.
