Gold Coin (Malaysia) shares soared 27 per cent after subsidiary Zuellig Pharma got rights to distribute US-based Pfizer's anti-impotence drug Viagra in Malaysia. The shares of Gold Coin, a feed and flour milling company, rose 64 cents to M$2.99 (about 67.51 HK cents). After the market closed, Gold Coin said its unit had signed an agreement with Pfizer to distribute its products in Malaysia, which included Viagra. It noted that Viagra had yet to finish its registration in Malaysia. Over the weekend, Malaysian Health Minister Chua Jui Meng said about 1.5 million men could benefit from Viagra. 'If the Malaysian Government approves the sale of Viagra, that's going to be profits going straight to the bottom line of Gold Coin,' HLG Securities' Lo Fen Cheong said.
