Bucks before human rights
WHEN I look at the troubles between the British and Chinese over the Hongkong issue, I can only conclude that those who side with the Chinese Communist Government, and the Chinese leaders themselves, are arguing only to preserve their own finances. They are pushing and pushing purely for economic gain, covering their true ends with a veil of self-righteous political drivel. They obviously haven't a care for the average Hongkong resident.
I fear the corruption which will be introduced to Hongkong once the Chinese do take over. This society will then be geared more than ever to false politics which favours only those who do the ''right'' business. Why? Because China is rife with corruptionas it is, so deeply in fact that I doubt anything would get done there without it.
So it seems dollars, and not people, are being fought for here.
