Shots fired at casino officer

Gunmen fired four shots at a casino officer in his car in Macau yesterday, but the intended victim ducked and escaped unharmed.

The casino officer surnamed Yeung, and nicknamed 'The Boxer', 36, was getting into his car near his home on Rua Nova a Guia at about 2.30am when the attackers rode up on a motorcycle and fired at him.

The car was hit and windows shattered before the men sped off from the scene. The shooting occurred near the Security Police headquarters.

Police armed with sub-machineguns later condoned off the area and retrieved four 7.62mm-calibre shells.

Mr Yeung is a security officer for Sociedade de Turismo e Diversoes casinos.

His two brothers work for the Judiciary Police and the Government's Gambling Inspectorate.
