Pictures please. It is the reason the World-Wide Web part of the Internet has become so popular. No longer are we satisfied with a good verbal description - we must now see it.
We must become artistic if we want people to look at our Web pages. Painter Classic is a product to help. It is aimed at the novice, although it would be a dedicated novice, not your common-or-garden dilettante.
MetaCreations is by that wild but wonderful German artist Kai Krause, who brought us KPT (Kai's Power Tools), among others. He has since moved from Germany to the United States and is churning out unusual software. Painter Classic is a 'dumbed-down' version of his successful Painter.
Both Painter and Painter Classic give you the ability to use pencil, pastel, chalk, ink, watercolour, oil and just about any other medium to create artwork.
This is not the kind of software you take out of the box, install and then play with. You will become extremely frustrated quickly.
My recommendation is to follow the tutorials carefully. It took me several goes to get the image of the fireman in the fire because I was trying to zip through the instructions. I kept missing something and getting rubbish on the screen. Those familiar with Photoshop will know how important these steps can be - if you get one out of sequence it's all over.
