I REFER to ''Bid to attract maids from Central goes ahead'' (South China Morning Post, April 2).
Turning Moreton Terrace in Causeway Bay into a market place with a fiesta atmosphere would be a good solution to the Statue Square controversy.
It would gradually reduce the Sunday attendance of thousands of domestic helpers in Central, and is far better than dumping them in an isolated car park during their one precious day-off.
It may also offer safe shelter from rain and intense summer heat.
I pray for more blessings to all businesses who are willing to give financial support for the creation of alternation facilities for the maids.
I also call for the co-operation and unity of all domestic helpers for the success of this proposal - for the benefit of everyone. CAPIANELA B. BALAORO Mid-Levels
