Blow horn on tram turnstile

REGARDING the new horn on the trams, instead of the old clanging sound. I really can't understand why the tram company would go to the unnecessary expense of changing it in the first place. In my opinion it would be a good idea to do away with those ridiculous turnstiles that have no useful purpose whatsoever. They bruise and prod many of the passengers as they try to get on.
