Early share issue unlikely

China Yangtze Three Gorges Project Development Corp, the firm managing the construction of the dam and hydroelectric-power plant, is unlikely to issue shares overseas before 2003, according to a company official. 'Conditions for an overseas share offering are not mature yet,' the official said. 'The project is expected to start generating power in 2003; I don't think anybody will be willing to buy our shares before we can generate earnings.'
