HONGKONG home entertainment company Star Entertainment (International Holding) has reported a 52 per cent increase in profit for the year to December 31, 1992. Profits climbed from $11.6 million to $17.6 million thanks to strong sales of the group's motion picture and karaoke laser discs. Earnings per share were 17.9 cents. Directors have not recommended any dividend to shareholders for the year, as stated in Star's prospectus when it listed on the Hongkong exchange last November. In all, 111 motion picture laser discs and 20 karaoke laser discs were released by the group during the year.
