A 10-year-old girl fought off a sex attacker outside her home in Mongkok yesterday. The assault occurred at midday after the girl had gone out to buy newspapers and was on her way back to her Argyle Street home. The attacker grabbed her neck from behind on the first-floor landing. 'When the attacker tried to drag the girl upstairs, she screamed for help and kicked the man in a fierce struggle,' a police source said. 'The man abandoned his attack and ran downstairs to escape.' The girl returned home and told her mother, who reported the attack to the police. She suffered minor abrasions to her neck and was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment. She remained in hospital for observation last night. The man, thought to be aged about 28, was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans and carrying a dark green bag. He was about 1.55 metres tall with thick eyebrows. Police said it was not clear whether the attacker was the same man wanted over assaults on three boys and a girl in North Point in the past two months.
