Legislators' views would be sought before the Government made policy decisions, the Chief Secretary for Administration pledged yesterday.
In the wake of strained relations between the executive and legislature in the past month, Anson Chan Fang On-sang said the administration would maintain close liaison with legislators on every issue.
'Especially before a policy is formulated - we will communicate with them and explain how we make our policies,' she said.
'We do hope they can offer valuable advice. The most important thing is that we all take the same attitude and that we should try to make the best use of resources to meet the needs of society.' Tung Chee-hwa admitted earlier that the relationship between the Government and the Legislative Council needed to be improved.
