A bus passenger who lost 10 teeth when the vehicle hit railings says he is no longer able to chew food and has launched a High Court damages claim. Yip Wing-ching, 60, a former watchman, was thrown against the handrail of the CMB bus when it 'rammed' the railings in Cleverly Street, Central, on April 2 last year, according to a writ filed yesterday. He suffered injuries to his mouth, chest and knees. Mr Yip obtained false teeth from the mainland after the accident. 'As he is feeling uncomfortable with his denture, he is unable to chew hard food. His dental condition has also affected his speech and taste,' the writ said. In the writ, Mr Yip targets bus driver Chan Foo-lam, who is accused of negligence, and the China Motor Bus Co Ltd.
