The Education Department is to seek advice from the privacy watchdog to see if it can name schools which breached Secondary Six admission procedures to snap up bright students.
At least one school, which was among the seven complaints received on Thursday, was found guilty of breaching the admission procedure by enrolling students early, the department said yesterday.
Two needed more investigation, while the remaining four were cleared.
A further six complaints were reported to the department yesterday, by when about 19,000 students were successful in acquiring places.
About 5,260 Form Six places are still available for students to apply at stage three of the admission procedure which begins today.
Director of Education Helen Yu Lai Ching-ping urged schools to comply strictly with admission procedures.
