Tokyo: North Korea plan to send almost 400 competitors to Bangkok in December for their first Asian Games appearance in eight years despite their economic woes, a Korean sports leader said yesterday. 'The number will be nearly 400. It will be indeed a large delegation,' said Kum Yong-gin, vice president of the Korean Amateur Athletic Association in Japan. But Kum added: 'Bangkok is far away and it may be costly to go there. The final number is still uncertain as our country is in a severe [economic] situation.'
