Standard Chartered yesterday announced the responsibilities of Alexander Au Siu-kee, who recently resigned as director, had been reassigned to four existing directors. After Mr Au's abrupt departure after less than two months at the bank, Hong Kong-based Mervyn Davies, who is responsible for corporate governance in Hong Kong, the mainland, Japan and South Korea, will also take charge of group economists. Christopher Castleman, who is responsible for key client relationships and certain strategic projects, will add the Middle East and South Asia to his duties. Finance director Peter Wood will take on governance responsibility in Britain, but will pass on his responsibility for audit and investigations to Michael Green, who is responsible for risk management, information technology and Latin America. Chief executive-designate Rana Talwar will take responsibility for legal compliance and external affairs.
