A baby whose headless body was found in the harbour on Saturday was thrown in from the shore at Causeway Bay typhoon shelter, police said yesterday. 'Our initial investigations showed the body was unlikely to have been washed into the typhoon shelter from outside or discharged from a drainage channel,' assistant Wan Chai district commander (crimes) Superintendent Allan Chan Wan-lung said. The girl had been in the water for two or three days before her body was found floating off the breakwater inside the typhoon shelter last Saturday, police said. Results of a postmortem examination conducted on Monday revealed the baby was about one month old, but the cause of death could not be ascertained. Police divers are likely to resume their search today for the baby's head and left arm.
