Taiwanese pop singer Jeff Chang Shin-jeh 'lost his way' after breaking up with his girlfriend. He was so depressed that he packed his bags and left the island to forget all about it.
This is the background for his latest Cantonese album, Leaving Love Behind, which captures the pain and agony of a heart-broken lover as he gets to grips with reality.
According to Chang, it took six months to produce the album, which comprises 11 original numbers.
'I was not involved in composing any song or writing any lyrics this time, as Cantonese is not my native language. I thought I would not be able to present the sort of touching feeling to listeners,' he said.
'In fact, I took part in the entire planning process for the album and I was happy to learn that a lot of my ideas were used by my production team. My record company gave me a great deal of support as well.' Chang said Leaving Love Behind was an 'awesome effort' led by renowned producer Lam Chik. It is also a hi-tech product, which includes the latest AVCD technology.
The album consists of two CDs - audio and video.
The Taiwanese heart-throb said of all the numbers, he liked the theme song Leaving Love Behind and Hate You the most.
