Hewlett-Packard has released a new series of its Pavilion home computers, the Pavilion 6318 and 6318H (left), built around Intel's 300 MHz Celeron processors, which support MMX. In addition, both the 6318 and 6318H have 48 MB SDRam, 6 gb hard drives, and 32X-Max CD-Rom drives. The estimated retail price of $9,998 includes a 15-inch monitor and a Deskjet 670C colour printer. Both the Pavilion 6318 and 6318H models include Windows 95, with the 6318H using Chinese Windows 95. Internet access is provided free for two months through Hong Kong Supernet. Ease of use is increased with a multimedia keyboard that has audio and CD controls.
