The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CU) is introducing the campus to schoolchildren in a novel way. It is inviting them to spend a relaxing day drawing or painting in the grounds, and offering them a chance to win prizes. Organised by the Fine Arts Department Club, the drawing competition has been a success for the past five years. Participants may choose any material or format for their drawing, but the theme should have something to do with CU's New Asia College. The contest, divided into junior and senior categories, will be held on October 17. Prizes and certificates will be awarded. There will also be a tour of the Fine Arts Department and the rest of the campus. All secondary school students are welcome and enrolment forms are available from schools, community centres and art supply companies. The deadline for enrolment is September 30. For inquiries call 2609-7615 (general office of Department of Fine Arts) or 7839- 0521 and speak to Henry Cheung. You can also e-mail to jasminet hklink.net.
