Brother of Anson sued

The Government is suing the brother of Chief Secretary for Administration Anson Chan Fang On-sang over maintenance work on his apartment.

Mrs Chan's solicitor brother allegedly failed to carry out repair work on his flat despite two Building Authority warnings in December 1990 and 1993.

Although the authority then carried out the work, John Fang Meng-sang, 57, has still not paid for it, according to a writ filed in the Small Claims Tribunal yesterday. Mr Fang is being sued for $2,743.80.

The flat is in the Wah Tak Building, Waterloo Road, Yau Ma Tei.

The case was adjourned until October 8.
