SCMP Reporter

POLICE received 309 complaints and made 142 prosecutions for taxi malpractices in July. Among the complaints were 54 cases of drivers refusing hire, 45 of meter offences and 77 of failing to take a direct route. There were 65 prosecutions for meter offences and 20 for refusing a fare.
