Marco Polo members lose perks

With the dire financial straits that Cathay Pacific find themselves in, can anyone explain why they seem intent on alienating some of their most loyal customers - the Marco Polo Gold Card members? The recent removal of two of the prime membership benefits - the use of the Marco Polo lounge at any time and of a special room within the lounge - leaves very little to encourage continued use of the airline. Neither benefits are likely to cost Cathay much, while the loss of business, and goodwill, certainly will.

I, and I'm sure many others, will become more familiar with the perks of other airlines serving Hong Kong in the future. Sorry, Cathay, but you have no one to blame but yourselves.
