A leading bank has rewarded students who gained outstanding results in this year's HKCEE. Fifty Form Five graduates who had 10 or nine straight As received $10,000 and $8,000 respectively from the Standard Chartered Bank. The bank launched the awards pro gramme 10 years ago. Standard Chartered's chief economist (Hong Kong, China and Northeast Asia) Kwok Kwok- chuen, and head of institutional banking (Hong Kong and China) Margaret Lee Man-yuen, officiated at the presentation ceremony. They congratulated the high achievers, and said they were delighted to be able to hand out a record number of awards. It was a tribute to the hard work and talent of these students. Standard Chartered first honoured top secondary school students in 1989, as part of its commitment to the community in Hong Kong.
