Brio Technology has launched a Chinese version of its business intelligence product suite - Brio Enterprise 5.5C.
Cees van Heemert, Brio's regional director for Asia-Pacific and Japan, said the Chinese version was identical to the English version.
'All the functionality of 5.5, our flagship product, is now in 5.5C.' He said the company realised it was important for products to be easy to use. 'Our products are designed for the IT people and built for users.' The suite requires virtually no administration, and many can begin using the products immediately.
With the launch of the Chinese version, he said: 'We see a huge market out there.' As part of its move into the Asia-Pacific region, Brio has appointed Hong Kong-based Pacific Software Resources (PSR) as its key distribution partner for Hong Kong and the mainland.
Ian Wallace, managing director of PSR, said the firm had decided to become a distributor of Brio products after testing them for its own use.
Mr Wallace said the company was working with potential mainland distributors and resellers in China, with six committed to the software. Brio customers in Hong Kong include New T&T, Motorola Electronics (China) and the Chinese University.
