A series of TV commercials aimed at preventing youth crime has been launched. These announcements, which are being broadcast on all terrestrial channels, call on parents to look after their children, saying that strained relationships between the two parties can lead to crime. Launched by the Fight Crime Committee, the main theme of this year's campaign is 'Your children's future hangs on parental care'. There are three episodes of the commercials, with the first one focusing on the uptight relationship between a mother and her daughter. In Mother and Daughter, the parent puts too many restrictions on her offspring who deliberately commits shoptheft and is arrested. Mother and Son is a story about negligence which leads to triad involvement. The third and final instalment, Father and Son , is about the perils of high expectations. Other publicity campaigns such as radio, MTR and bus advertisements and posters will also be used to disseminate the message.
