A lucky shopper went to the market - and came away with a Rolls-Royce.

The luxury car was given away by market store operator Majorluck as part of a coupon and draw scheme aimed at boosting sagging business.

Other cars are also up for grabs as well as electrical and household appliances.

Majorluck, which runs 300 stores in four public and two private housing estates, said the gimmick was already a success.

'People are used to paying cash for vegetables, fruit and meat in the market. Using cash coupons for these things is something quite alien to most shoppers,' said a company spokesman.

'But housewives are smart. They know the best way to spend money, especially in these difficult times.' Gifts such as toilet paper, detergent and rice are offered for every $100 spent on coupons, each valued at $10.
